Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman investor, speaker, consultant and syndicated columnist. She is also an television host, and author. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran soon exited the business. Corcoran is one of ABC’s original Shark Tank investors. As of now, she has been in every 12 season of Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February of 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was the second child in a family of 10 kids, and was raised in Edgewater.  Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father during Corcoran's childhood. Her family often relied on free delivery of food from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran remembers her father as one who occasionally drank too much and was rude to her mother and contempt, particularly when he'd been drinking. Corcoran was a troubled student in school. Later, she discovered she was dyslexic. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended an Catholic primary school. Corcoran was proficient in several classes during her freshman year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
